Jamie Shadid, LMT, CMLDT was drawn to the world of holistic healing arts after her own health issues began in 2013 while living in Brazil. After returning to the US she began working with Dr. Stephanie Mines, Founder of The TARA Approach, a unique trauma-informed healing method that Jamie became certified in after experiencing profound shifts in her physical/emotional/spiritual well-being. Jamie went on to complete studies in Massage Therapy at The Colorado School of Healing Arts in Denver, Colorado to further her knowledge of the human body and how she could be of service to clients.
Just before finishing the last quarter of Massage Therapy school Jamie was diagnosed with early stage breast cancer at the age of 32. Shocked, but determined to see the hidden blessings in a cancer diagnosis at a young age, she signed up for the Oncology Massage course. As she went through the Oncology Massage training while simultaneously dealing with her diagnosis she gained clarity in her vision of how her personal experience and training would lead her to be of service to unique populations of clients. Recognizing that there was a deep disconnection to her body and that she had unresolved traumatic experiences, she understood that in combination with her family genes and lifestyle this led to the cancer diagnosis. Through deep personal inquiry, the healing arts, learning to surrender to what doesn't serve while staying aligned to her truth, Jamie has allowed her health and personal challenges to catapult her into a career of service. Prior to entering the beautiful world of the Healing Arts, Jamie lived/studied/worked and traveled abroad for 10 years, mostly in Spain and Brazil where she gave English classes. She is fluent in Spanish and Portuguese and has a Bachelor's of Arts in Humanities with focuses in Sociology, Spanish and Anthropology from Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colorado.
